The Bachelor Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (PASS) with a major in Sailing, run in a blended format, offers students a qualification that is unique in Catalonia, enabling the SHST focus on physical activity and sport as essential elements for maintaining people’s health. Moreover, TecnoCampus’s status as a technology and business park enables us to incorporate cross-disciplinary competences in our Bachelor Degrees linked to entrepreneurship and management in the fields of sport and health. The Bachelors Program in Physiotherapy proposed by the Higher School of Health Sciences TecnoCampus responds to the growing demand and territorial interest to incorporate a higher education degree that links physical activity as therapy and as an element of promotion of the general health of the individual. The physiotherapy qualification allows working in the domestic, labor, and school, institutional, people with or without psycho / physical disability, and with special attention to risk groups such as children, women and the elderly. With this new Degree in Physiotherapy (together with the degree of PASS and Nursing) the ESCST makes a clear commitment to health and wellbeing as the basic axes of its strategic territorial development plan.

In terms of postgraduate education, the SHST offers our graduates and various health professionals Master and Postgraduate diplomas and the University Master’s Degree in Integrated Care Management in Chronicity and Ageing, a university Master that provides excellent training to health professionals concerned with research into chronic pathologies or who need to tackle new challenges that required the integrated care of patients and their families. The SHST boasts privileged facilities located by the sea and within the TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme Science Park.

To enhance the tuition on its Bachelor Degree program, the SHST has the Center of Simulation and Innovation in Health (CSIH) which aims to facilitate and promote students’ and health professionals’ development and training, using the most innovative learning methodologies. The HSIC boasts five Simulation Labs fitted with the latest equipment and designed to achieve maximum realism, with simulation being used as an essential methodology for acquiring and developing competences. Committed to providing quality tuition, at the SHST, we work in small groups in which students play an active role in their learning process. The methodologies applied enables continuous evaluation and close monitoring of the students by the lecturers. Moreover, throughout their university life, students have access to a tutor to give them guidance on any matters that may be of interest to them.

In the field of research, the SHST has active projects under way in the fields of aging, chronicity, physical activity and health, dementia, cancer and health innovation. The College also takes part in various multidisciplinary projects and consolidated research groups. We have very good collaboration with internationals partners and colleagues. We are active members of the European Academy of Nursing Science (EANS) and UDINE group, with ERASMUS agreements for teachers’ mobility and Erasmus + programs.

We are very aware of our responsibility in training future health and sport professionals, and we embrace this mission with commitment and passion. We want our students to form part of this TecnoCampus project.
