"I have a bigger fish to fry today", said somebody befor the trip.
Apparently this ’fish quote’ was in students’ mind a lot today. For now it has a name already. You can read on the web as " For the Little Travel". Yes we went to Siklós and Villány to make festival, to make after school programs.
We are living in a digital world. iPhones, VRs, iPads and all are everyday things we have. We record and share. This is also what happened during the visit.
The big red bus started at 9 am from Barbakán Pécs on a sunny Saturday morning – maybe it was the last uninterrupted sunny day of the month.
On the board of the bus students from Pakistan and India coexisted in peace. Next to each other, full of smiles. Now this is impossible in real-world politics as we see it in the news. Politicians could learn from the student reality.
One African student on the board liked reggae music and singing blues too.
I saw non stop smiling faces from China. One of them played on gitar and sang songs from her country and from the top of US music lists.
But definitely the funniest moment of „the Little Travel” was when a Hungarian gent shouted in German to a Chinese girl in Siklós next to the Castle: “Nein, nein!”. Because the arrow was held a somewhat inexperienced way in her hands. What a language and culture mix! Everyone laughed.
Siklós was peacefull at the Castle park. We tried to arrow, we played old folk games, we tasted fröccs, the most favorite drink of Hungarians during summer.
Befor the order of Fröccs.
Time flies when people enjoy themselves. During the afternoon we visited the spa in Siklós, and enjoyed the sauna and four of its eight pools on this sunny day, among lots of guests. Afterwards the group attended the wine festival in Villány and had a lovely dinner in Villánykövesd.
Visiting Siklós and Villány is the perfect way to head deep into the countryside. More exhilarating than walking in Pécs, more off-road than mountain biking between the block houses in the city and far more peaceful than anything involving mechanical horse power. Set in the heart of the South Baranya spa area is nature at its finest – sun, almost sea feeling, sand dunes. Freshwater Siklós spa has the biggest and most powerful waves in Baranya (if international students jumps) and there are several separate pools here, so even at the height of summer it's rarely too busy.
